It Will Pass


It will pass. 

 A simple sentence “it will pass” yet it carries so much weight.
 It’s something we say to others in moments of emotional turmoil,
 and somehow, it reaches exactly where it needs to. 

 Sadness… it will pass. 
The feeling of being left behind.....maybe it will pass.
The love that wasn't returned… it will pass. 

Even if it takes time, 
even if it lingers longer than we expect, 
it will pass.

Hopefully… it will pass.

There are so many things I never told you. Not because I didn't want to, but because I thought I had more time. But time ran out, didn't it? Now, as I sit in this car, watching the road stretch endlessly ahead, I find myself talking to you in my head, hoping that somehow, somewhere, you can still hear me. The road reminds me of all the times you picked me and my brother from school. We'd squeeze into the car, our backpacks shoved between us, exhaustion from the day still heavy in our limbs.                    Somewhere along the way, the thought quietly settled in: perhaps I was falling behind in life. Had my days been so dull, so hollow, that I began to drift into a realm of daydreams, where the only comfort was the belief that I could become anything, so long as I stopped caring about the world and its weight?
